I. Overview

This policy explains what information the website at kon.ac collects, why, and what you can do about it. The site is run by the artist professionally known as Konac ("Konac"). Konac collects as little as possible and never sells your information.

II. What Is Collected

  • Email updates. When you sign up to hear new songs early, the site stores your name, email address, and the date you signed up.
  • Licensing inquiries. When you send an inquiry, the site stores your name, email address, and message.
  • Approximate location. With both forms, the site also stores the country and city your connection comes from, as reported by the hosting provider. It never asks for or stores your exact location.
  • Demo listening. If you're given access to private demos, the site records when you accept the demo terms and unlock a demo, along with your IP address, browser type, and country.
  • Analytics. If you accept analytics cookies, the site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which links people click. Google Analytics collects details like your device, browser, and general location.

III. How It's Used

Your information is only used to:

  • send you updates about new music, if you signed up for them;
  • reply to your licensing inquiry;
  • keep a record of who accepted the demo terms;
  • block spam and abuse of the site's forms;
  • understand how visitors use the site so it can be improved.

IV. Cookies

The site sets a cookie to protect its forms against forgery, and a session cookie to remember that you accepted the demo terms. These are needed for the site to work. Google Analytics cookies are only set if you click Accept on the cookie banner, and the site works the same if you decline. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

V. Sharing

Your information is never sold or rented. It's only shared with the services that run the site: Amazon Web Services, which hosts the site and sends its email, and Google, which provides analytics. Konac may also share information if the law requires it.

VI. Storage and Retention

Your information is stored on servers in the United States. Email signups are kept until you unsubscribe. Licensing inquiries and demo records are kept for as long as they're needed to handle your request or keep a record of the agreement.

VII. Your Choices

You can ask to see, correct, or delete the information the site holds about you, or unsubscribe from updates, at any time. Email konac@kon.ac and your request will be handled promptly.

VIII. Children

This site isn't directed at children under 13, and Konac doesn't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has shared their details, email konac@kon.ac and they will be deleted.

IX. Changes to This Policy

Konac may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
